Enrol a Little

The agency is currently accepting applications for boys and girls, ages 6-14, who are interested in becoming a Little.

               Enrolment Process

There is a process to enrol a child as a little brother or little sister. Here are the main steps of that process

  • Parent/guardian contacts BBBS to express interest in the program either by phone or email

  • An application is provided to the parent/guardian

  • An in-person information session & interview are scheduled at BBBS office

  • Pre-Match Training for parent/guardian & child takes place at BBBS office

  • Files are assessed and processed (this may include references)

  • Once a child’s file has been approved, it will be placed on a waitlist until a match can be made!

Little Enrolment Checklist

  • I understand that all applicants must be between the ages of 6-14 at the time of inquiry.

  • I understand that the child is able to communicate verbally, perform independent self-care and can maintain a healthy relationship respecting boundaries.

  • I understand that the child does not have any major presenting behaviors that could put them or a volunteer at risk of harm.

  • I understand the agency may request referrals from any professionals or agencies involved with the child.

  • I understand that there is no obligation on the agency to accept a child.

  • I understand that if I do not have full custody, a letter will be sent to the other parent, if possible, notifying them of the child’s involvement.

  • I understand the processing time to enroll a child could vary and is different for each child.
